Harrington School of Motoring was established by Tom Harrington in 1970 and is an independent entity. Tom was then a Department of Transport Approved Driving Instructor GB, and a Royal Automobile Club Registered Instructor, probably the only doubly qualified instructor in Ireland at that time. He initially trained and worked with the prestigious British School of Motoring.
Over the years, HSM offered qualified, professional driver training by continuously improving our driving, instructional techniques and practices to benefit our customers. Our driving and training standards have always exceeded the training industry’s requirements and those currently required by the Road Safety Authority.
In 1987, John Harrington trained and became a professional driving instructor. He initially assisted in the business and in 1996 he acquired the driving school which was by then operating under the name of Harrington Driver Training Services. Since then, he has amassed valuable experience and many other driving and instructor qualifications.
Today, as always, under the title of Harrington Driver Training Services, we continue to provide quality, friendly focused instruction and have developed a number of specialist courses for individuals, the transport industry and driving instructors. Our commitment today as in 1970 is the same – to improve the knowledge, attitude and driving skills of all our customers, making our roads are a safer place for everyone to drive on.
